This Friday I’m teaming up with Lisa Jo Baker and the Five Minute Friday community. The object; write for five minutes on the prompt of the day……whatever comes out in five minutes is what you post, then go back and encourage the post preceding yours!! This weeks prompt: Mess.
MESS……it’s the laundry pile in the corner clamoring for attention. It’s the mud room floor staring accusingly as if it has never heard of a vacuum. It’s my sons bedroom anxiously awaiting a mini-makeover.
It’s a handsome little red haired boy who looks like his hair has been combed with an eggbeater. It’s the smattering of freckles on that same boys face that lights up my heart with his smile.
It’s my heart……so full of a messy combination of love, disappointment, joy, sadness, peace interspersed with anxiousness.
It’s my brain, with a head full of ideas just waiting for a piece of paper and a bit of quiet time. It’s dealing with hurts while tiredly putting one foot in front of the other, it’s realizing those hurts were exacerbated by that fatigue.
It’s awakening after a good rest with a smile that says……this mess is ME. It’s a mess formed by a loving God who knit me together in my mothers womb. It’s a mess that someday will see His full glory, but right now tries clumsily to cling to that Glory. Oh it’s a beautiful mess, it’s ME, it’s my life and every morning, messy or not, it’s a life I choose to give to my God…….knowing He is the creator, sustainer, and healer for ALL messes!
